You have spent more than enough time in this pyramid to know how the machines of the Ancients work. In a stroke of intuition, you discovered a hidden override button not far away and jump towards it quickly before either Sooth Silver or the turrect can react.

The reaction is instantaneous - the gate goes black and the noise dies. Sooth Silver folds to the floor.
