I joined a local scout group in 2001 at the age of 8. I made my scout promise in the year 2004 and I don’t intend to distance myself from the scouting ideals for the rest of my life.
I led a patrol of younger scouts, mostly kids from Year 1 to Year 5 of elementary school from 2007 to 2012, at which point I became deputy to our Scoutmaster. In the summer 2015, in anticipation of my departure to study for 6 months in France, I offered this position to a younger leader within the group who accepted.
My scout group is called 7. oddíl Karibu (Czech only). I owe a lot to them and I love them.
It is never too early or too late to begin scouting. If you’d like to become part of the best youth education organisation in the world and want some pointers, I’m always ready to help at petrhudecek2010@gmail.com.
I also creating a webcomic about scouting called “Naší snahou nejlepší buď čin!” in Czech at https://nsnbc.neocities.org/ (links to new strips are also posted to the Facebook page of the webcomic).
